Mt. Zion School of Ministry - Missions Testimonies

"It is an honor and privilege to be here and serve the people of Guatemala!  If I can sum it up I have seen the simplicity of Christ in everything that we say and do here.  It is all about loving the Lord and loving our neighbors as ourselves!  We have wonderful leaders that seek the Lord and they have been awesome with us, giving us time to grow and adjust to things here.  I have seen the Holy Spirit move in such awesome ways; it is those types of experiences you read about in books!  We have seen whole households reconciled with the Lord and the Lord heal them of pain they suffered in the churches they attended.  We have seen people get saved in such awesome ways, and something the Lord is definitely establishing here is the need for discipleship!  There is such a great need, for truly the harvest is ripe and the Lord has few laborers!  I truly know that we are entering into the labors of others before us as the scriptures say.  We are just part of something vast the Lord is doing in Guatemala!!  It is so wonderful, and I know the Lord has and is changing me since I have been here!"

"God is so faithful.  His presence is always there, touching those we are ministering to and touching us... As I walk in simple obedience to Him, He will touch people.  HE HAS BEEN FAITHFUL!  At one youth group a young homeless man who had just come to that church that day, got saved.  At another, one youth had just lost his older brother to gang violence and another boy had an older brother who was the head of one the big gangs in that area, but God touched them.  They were weeping at the end of the service as the brothers of our team gathered around them to pray.  God is moving."

"I am so awed at each church or wherever we minister, God gives us exactly what we need.  Though we may be teaching basically the same thing, He knows the needs of the people there and HE meets them.  It is nothing to do with us, we are just His vessels.  That has been so impressed upon me lately.  Though I may feel very weak and incapable in areas, it is okay, because it is not about me; it is about God being glorified.  As I let Him have His way in me, freely, whatever He wants, He will be.  The time here has been great.  Just to see God working through us and amongst us is humbling and beautiful.  The pastors that we work alongside are very provoking.  It is truly an honor to be here and help hold up their hands for this time."

"We are delighted with the interns we have.  They are a wonderful blessing!  I am so grateful to Mt. Zion School of Ministry and His servant, Sister Catherine, for the support you are to the Irish church.  May the Lord continue to bless you all and use you to His glory."

"We have had opportunities to go to the streets here and share Christ, and our testimonies with the young adults.  I had such a joy after going to the streets and was encouraged by the way that the Holy Spirit led in conversations.  I am seeing that being prepared is important, but being able to hear His voice right at the time of ministering is more important.  So many of these things that I have been taught at Mt. Zion School of Ministry are now coming back to me in experience now, rather than theory.  God is moving in Ireland, and there is a freedom and purity in His body here that is refreshing.  I am thankful to be a part and thankful that He is my steadfast, changeless Father."

"God is really meeting the need of the people here...People need medical attention so badly.  After church on Sunday, when we were all ready to go back and eat lunch, many people from the community came to us for help.  There was one need after another... The Holy Spirit gently opened my eyes of life in the ministry, and how Jesus and His disciples walked that walk every day - laying their lives down for others, putting others before themselves.  God is doing a deep work in my heart.  I am very thankful for every day, though it may be difficult at times; God is doing a work in and through me.  I am glad to be here with the team in South Africa.  The children at the orphanage are very godly.  They are humble and obedient.  They always are trying to help us.  The other day I helped a boy pump water, and when I was done he told me to close my eyes.  I did so, and he blessed me in prayer.  This really touched my heart.  God is moving here."

Intern & Alumnus in South Afric"The Lord is continuing to show me how much I need to rely on the Holy Spirit to be a witness for Him.  Of myself I can do nothing of significance, but it is the Holy Spirit working in and through me that can truly bring life to others.  Even before I left for South Africa the Lord showed me very strongly that I can do nothing without Him, that it is not about anything I can do, but about Him.  He is causing me to be more and more reliant on Him through different situations every day.  When I see I cannot do anything good in my own strength, I give it all over to God and ask Him to do what He wants."

"We went to treat a man that had a wound on his leg.  The wound was really bad - it was infected and very deep, but even greater was the desperation and need written on this man's face.  This man had a big problem with alcohol and smoking.  I was praying that he would be saved.  As we were waiting for water to cool for the dressing change, Stephen told him the gospel message and after that the man and the whole family received Jesus as their Savior.  Another time a woman came for medical help - after I did what I could for her - I witnessed to her about Jesus, and she also received Jesus as her Savior."

"I do not think I have ever seen people so hungry for truth.  The Lord has really shown me a lot.  He has been showing me how much the truth of Jesus Christ sets people free.  God is so amazing."

"God is telling me so much.  One thing I have really noticed is how much we need to spend time with the Lord to get through each day.  God has really shown me that His Word is where I get my strength.  He has told me to read His Word more for my strength.  I thank Him for revealing that to me."
